ARMENIANS, ARMENIANS, ARMENIANS, AND ARMENIAN PROBLEMS...

Armenian problem has argued until now from yesterday. It is being argued much more nowadays. I
wonder if this problem has really been searched. There are two nations and one history, and also the
memories, values, other things we lived. Two nations were enemies each other and couldn’t
converse.

For states there are interests and also there are the types of these interests: local interests, national
interests, regional interests and international interests. Although we can put in order from bigness to
smallness, according to importance orders, I think we can put in order that: national interests, local
interests, regional interests and international interests. The USA knows that its national interests are
more important than local interests like some people’s votes in the elections and according to Ümit
Enginsoy, this operation won’t be easy in the future. I agree with him. But can we say that it is always
true. I don’t think. Thucydides says in his book called “The Peloponnesian Wars” that if a state is
strong, this state is always right even though it isn’t right, event a guilty. As a result from here, we
can say that as long as the USA needs Turkey in its national interests, the USA will give up Turkey and
won’t accept as a rule that Armenian problem exist.

This isn’t always related to interests. This is also concerning with how the relationships among Turkey
and the USA are. Of course, we can’t say that interests aren’t important. In fact, they resemble each
other. There is a link between interests and relationships. The relationships lead to the interests and
also the interests manage the relationships in the politics. According to this, we say that it isn’t easy
to be accepted as long as the relationships among the USA and Turkey are good and Turkey is
powerful or if Turkey is powerful. Maybe we can ask several questions: who is ruled over in Armenia
by? The people in Armenia or Armenian Lobby? Another question is related to which one more
important: to be accepted so-called genocide or to improve the relationships to a state next you.

In conclusion, even though the people at Armenian Lobby have an important opportunity in their
hands, they couldn’t do this. This shows that interests are important in politics. But here we can’t
forget that although interests manage relationships, relationships cause interests. In other words,
relationships create interests, so Turkey should use their cards and manage these relationships. I
don’t know what Armenia wants or why Armenia is doing things Armenian Lobby want. But if Turkey
uses Israel cards regarding to Blue Marmara Attack, it can correct the relationships to the USA and if
Turkey uses Armenian cards truly, maybe it can’t meet things like this and deal with this problem in
the future. Lastly, we can ask a last question: why is it important that Armenian Problem (or so-called
Genocide) is accepted by the USA? In the Middle Ages Papa didn’t accept scientific facts. Did this
situation change anything? Maybe were scientific facts unreal?
