Project proponent Young Moro Network for Social Accountability

(YMN)

a network of of youth organizations working for social

development and progress in Mindanao. As a network, YMN
hopes to promote social accountability particularly in the
conduct of programs and activities of both government and
non-government organizations while building each member’s
capacity in conducting research, networking, meetings
facilitation, information technology, and the like.

YMN was organized through the Affiliated Network for

Social Accountability in East Asia and the Pacific
(ANSA-EAP), a joint project of the Ateneo School of
Government and the World Bank.
Project description Check My Peace is an attempt to provide a comprehensive
and systematic presentation of both conflict and development
in Mindanao. By translating conflict and development into
measurable and verifiable indicators, YMN hopes to create an
online database—that can be updated by local partners—
which can be used to monitor service delivery in the areas of
human rights protection and welfare promotion in the region.

- YMN will be able to collect and validate needed data
faster and easier
- Partner agencies/organizations that have the data will
be able to systematically record and update information
while making it available to the public
- Partner agencies/organizations will be able to make
themselves more visible to the general public
- Strengthen ties among various stakeholders
- Capacity building (YMN and project partners will
eventually be given training so they can easily update
information on the map)
