Report for Chinese New Year Celebration Year 2010

February
On 25th February 2010, all the Olympia’s Faculty, Administrative staffs as well as students
celebrated Chinese New Year together. A Lion Dance team was hired to come and bring
prosperity in our college. Chinese do believe that Lion Dance will bring us prosperity. and the
purpose we gathered is to welcome the Lion Dance which is believed to bring prosperity. Lion
dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture, in which performers mimic a lion's
movements in a lion costume. The aim of this gathering is to build a better relationship between
the students and the staffs.

The Lion Dance performance lasted around 30 minutes. The Lion Dance was accompanied by
drums, cymbals, and gongs. After the Lion Dance, we were all gathered at the cafeteria for a Hi-
Tea. During Hi-Tea, the Marketing staffs conducted musical chair competition for the staffs and
students. Winner was given out some prizes. This Chinese New Year gathering was a great time
for the staffs and students.
