Italy

Italy is located on the Italian Peninsula in Southern

Europe. Its shape is very similar to a boot. Italy is
divided into 20 regions and also two independent states
situated inside the country .San Marion and Vatican
City.

Italy’s Great Artists

Italy was said to be the country that art lovers should
visit once in their lives. There are many great art
galleries and museums. Moreover, it gave birth to two
great artists ,Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci .The
latter painted the world-famous painting , Mona Lisa,
who is the owner of the mysterious smile.
 Venice and Gondola
Venice is full of canals , so water transportation is the
most convenient. If anyone wants to add a romantic
atmosphere to their journey in Venice, try a gondola , a
black boat with open cabin rowed by a boatman called a
gondolier. Local people believe that if lovers kiss each
other under a bridge in Venice on a gondola at sunset ,
their love will last forever.
 Pizza
Pizza had an interesting and fun origin. Once , a baker
wanted to make a present for the king, he put bread
which was topped with red tomatoes, white cheese and
green herbs into the oven. These ingredients were
chosen because they have the colors of Italy’s national
flag.

Pasta
Pasta is a well-known Italian food made of flour, water
and some times egg. There are more than 350 shapes of
pasta. The most widely known are spaghetti, macaroni
and fussili . Italians usually eat pasta with a sauce.
Leaning Tower of
Pisa
When the construction of the tower began on August 9,
1173, it was not designed to lean. However , during the
construction, it turned out that the ground under the
tower was not strong enough, so it started to lean when
the construction progressed to the third floor. Though
there was an effort to repair the tilt by building higher
floors with one side taller than the other, the repair was
not successful. The leaning Tower of Pisa was recently
repaired from 1990 to 2001 to strengthen its structure.
