    JENNY BROWN

    Republican For County Commissioner

    Jenny Brown grew up in Haverford. She is a 1988 graduate of Middlebury


    College in Middlebury, Vermont and a 1992 graduate of Temple University
    School of Law. Early in her legal career, Jenny practiced complex commercial
    litigation before turning her attention to municipal business tax law. Jenny
    lectures at conferences on municipal taxation. She is a member of the Montgom-
    ery Bar Association.

    Residing in Lower Merion since 1997, Jenny first ran for and was elected as a
    Township Commissioner in 2005. Motivated by concern for rising township taxes
    and debt, Jenny has aggressively fought for fiscal responsibility, accountability
    and transparency in local government. Much to the consternation of the
    Democratic majority, Jenny scrutinizes the 300-plus page annual township budget.
    Working with community organizations, her fellow Republican commissioners
    and concerned residents of all political affiliations, Jenny has played a critical role
    in educating the public about the spending and borrowing excesses of local
    government in Lower Merion and has been instrumental in effecting important
    policy changes. Jenny’s efforts as Township Commissioner have won her awards,
    including several Budget Hawk awards from Lower Merion Citizens for
    Responsible Budgeting. She was re-elected Township Commissioner in 2009.

    Jenny has served the local and county Republican Party in addition to her duties
    as a Township Commissioner. A former committeeperson, Jenny currently serves
    on the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Republican Committee.
    She is a member and Corresponding Secretary of the Montgomery County
    Republican Women’s Leadership. Jenny is the 2010 recipient of the Republican
    Women of the Main Line’s Toland Award for outstanding service to our party.

    Jenny and her husband Rick are the parents of Jack (11) and Sarah (5).
