Landscape Design Exam Project
DESIGN BRIEF

PROJECT: Design of an urban space which includes

• Urban commercial space
• Road side green belts
• Green space in front of a hospital
• Green space in front of an educational institute
• Green space in front of an office building

OBJECTIVE:
The objective is to study and suggest landscape design solutions in the urban context.

PROJECT OUTLINE:
• Students are required to work in groups of four or five .
• You have to break up the project in the following phases
1. To study the existing landscape conditions of urban spaces
2. Site analysis and analysis of the collected information
3. Develop a design concept
4. Give a detailed design solution including all the elements of
landscaping and planting detail
• The total area of the project should not exceed 1361250 sq.ft or 125000 sq.m.

SUBMISSION:

The final submission will be given in two forms:

1. You have to give a power point presentation of the existing landscape conditions,
the site analysis and the design concept that you are developing.
2. Your final design solution should be submitted in the form of hard copies, the
requirements for which are mentioned below:
• Students are free to use any medium for the final submission drawings.
• Students are required to make:
1. Master plan
2. A layout plan
3. Planting layout
4. Elevations and sections
5. 3Ds views and sketches
The scale of the master plan should be 1/32”=1’
