Topic:

Review on ideas for the integration of technology for Instructional Design and materials
development

Main objective:

By the end of the session, the participants

a. Should be exposed to technologies that are being used as platforms for using
Instructional Design materials.

Session objectives:

The learner should be able to:

 Should propose ideas for consideration in designing materials for these additional
‘technology’ platforms
 Should be able to identify specific websites or other ‘technology’
resources/platforms that contain information on instructional design
 Should be able to review challenges in using various technologies for developing
and using Instructional Design materials and suggest ways of remedying this
relative to the context that the materials will be used

 Project a short section of the one of the ModCAL es of Instructional

Content: (15 minutes)  Laptop
 LCD
 Brainstorming on ‘tech’ platforms that the participants  Power point
have used/seen Instructional materials e.g. mobile, web. presentations
 Presentation of the k4Health website, Global Health  Note books and pens
eLearning Site, ModCAL and mobile apps/web  Flipcharts, markers,
frameworks that have been developed and are available masking tape
for learning and that have Instructional materials
 Discuss considerations for developing Instructional
Design materials for these ‘tech’ platforms

Practice Activity:(10 minutes)

 Interactive Quiz where participants win prizes(proposed


prizes: sweets) for proposing how they may convert
some of the materials developed for a ‘tech’ platform,
discussing a few implementation specifics, perceived
advantages for doing this and possible challenges

Assignment: Review the k4Health Website (or any other tech platform that features
Instructional Design Information or considerations).
