To make a coil, roll out a lump of clay into a thin sausage shape about 1 centimeter thick. Curl the sausage into a spiral and join each loop together using slip. Repeat rolling and stacking coils, smoothing the edges, until reaching the desired shape.

1. First you need to take a lump of clay about the size of a
fist and start rolling it into a sort of sausage shape. 2. You do this by pushing down on to the clay to make it thinner then slowly move your hands outwards so the piece of clay is evenly thick. 3. You keep doing this until your sausage is about a centimetre thick then you get then you curl this round to make the base of your shape you can cross hatch the end of your sausage and use rackoo slip to join the ends together. 4. You then make another suasge and cross hatch the top of the last layer and use rakoo slip again to keep them together. 5. You repeat this proccesses until you get the desired shape and you also smooth the edges down and stop using rakoo slip after the 3rd layer.
