Natural Recipes
The Goods:
-1 empty 32 oz. spray bottle
-3/4 c. Distilled White Vinegar
-1 c. Hydrogen Peroxide
-1 1/2 tsp. Castille Soap (Such as Dr. Bronner )
-30 drops Tea Tree Oil
-30 drops Essential Oil of choice (some of my favorite choices include lavender, lemongrass,
rosemary, lemon verbena, spearmint, clove, cinnamon, anise, sage, grapefruit, lemon, and lime;
experiment with one or a combo and see what scent makes you want to get lean and clean!)
The Deal:
-Place all ingredients into the spray bottle using a funnel or measuring cup with a spout.
-Add water until contents reach top of bottle.
-Shake vigorously and use with abandon!
*For those with no time, or inclination, to make their own natural cleaning products but still
needing a good cleaning kit, these companies offer a repertoire of items you can feel good about
purchasing:
This deeply nourishing eye serum would cost you more than a pair of designer jeans at a
department store. It’s packed with antioxidants. I always pop a bottle in my purse when
traveling, as it helps combat unavoidably dehydrated skin.
Application: Use a few drops under your eyes, in the morning and evening after moisturizing.
Shelf life: 1 year in a cool, dark cupboard
Ingredients:
½ tbsp. grapeseed oil
½ tsp. pomegranate seed oil
½ tsp. carrot seed oil
½ tsp. wheat germ oil
Simply pour the oils into your bottle, shake gently, and you’re ready to go.
The Great Pumpkin Patch Face Mask
The Goods:
-1/4 c. pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix!)
-2 Tbsp. plain whole milk yogurt (unflavored)
The Deal:
-Place ingredients into a small bowl.
-Whisk gently until completely combined.
-Slather liberally on face and neck.
-Leave for 15 minutes (I’d suggest using a head band to keep your hair off your face).
-Rinse off with warm water.
The Deal:
-Place ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir well with a wooden or metal spoon.
-Transfer mixture to a container and cover with a lid.
-Use in shower, rubbing onto face and body.
-Leave on for 1-2 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly.
-Use caution, as the bottom of the bath/shower floor will become slippery from the oil (I’d
advise keeping a scrub brush in the shower so that you can reach down and give the floor a quick
rub each time you use the honey scrub).
