When the applied voltage per phase is reduced to one half. How the starting torque of squirrel cage induction motor will change? What is the condition for getting maximum torque at starting in a 3-phase induction motor? The iron losses in the rotor of an induction motor are normally neglected? Justify this. Differentiate slip ring and squirrel cage induction motor based on construction. A 3-phase, 50 Hz, 8-pole induction motor has full-load slip of 2 %. The rotor resistance and stand still rotor reactance per phase are 0.001 and 0.005 respectively. Find the ratio of maximum to full load torque. Part B Answer Any Three Questions 3 x 12 = 36
