    Effect of DPP IV inhibitors on Hepatic steatosis in HepG2 cell line

    HepG2 cells express high levels of DPP IV activity DP-IV-/- Mice are Resistant to HFD-Induced Hepatic Lipid Accumulation. SREBP-1c is a master gene that regulates the expression of lipogenic genes, and increased expression of SREBP-1c is associated with fatty livers in murine models of diabetes. HFD-fed DP-IV -/- mice PPARE expression was up-regulated whereas SREBP-1c expression was down-regulated in the liver.
