Nigerias fiNaNcial laNdscape became thiNNer yesterday with the death of tayo aderiNokuN, the maNagiNg director of guaraNty trust baNk, iN loNdoN. his death has been described as a huge loss to Nigeria, the financial industry, but more specifically to gt bank, an institution he co-founded in 1990. in the time that he was at the helm of affairs at the bank, mr aderinokun supervised the development of the institution into one of the strongest corporate players in the Nigerian banking sector. his loss is unlikely to have an impact on the fortunes of the bank as a clear succession plan is in place with segun agbaje, the deputy managing director who has been acting since april 20, tipped to become a substantive chief executive.
