Pattern:
Cast on 140 stitches. Knit Knit Knit Knit Knit Knit Knit Knit Knit 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 rows in A. rows in B. rows in A. rows in C as follows: K1, (YO, SSK) repeat to end (Alternatively, these can be knit plain.) rows in B. rows in C as follows: K1, (YO, SSK) repeat to end (or plain, as above.) rows in A. rows in B. rows in A.

Finishing:
Weave in ends and leave edges plain, or make fringe and attach at ends. Design note: If you plan on making fringe, leave generous, fringe-length tails of yarn at the starting end when you begin new colors. When the scarf is complete, add fringe to the other end and more fringe to the starting end to fill it out.
