Dear Parents,
Sickness at school lately has meant that some children miss out on collecting their homework sheet from school. Dont forget you can look it up on the schools website. Click on your childs class down the left side and then click on Kahikatea Homework Blog. Once that has opened use the tabs along the top to find spelling and maths sheets as well as the current homework sheet.

Inquiry Topic: A matter of fact!

Task 1 Spelling 1. Learn your Spelling words for


Fridays spelling test. 2. This weeks spelling is on Spelling City. Rm 5 http://www.spellingcity.com/sallyruss/ Rms 6, 7, 8 & 17 http://www.spellingcity.com/kahikatea/ Try some of the games and activities. 3. EACH night write 3 good sentences in your Homefun notebook. Each sentence should contain one of your spelling words, and have a capital letter, full stop as well as make sense. Make sure you check your work yourself when you have finished.

Task 3 Basic facts Each night learn 2 basic facts that you got incorrect or didnt do so that your score improves each week!

Task 4 We have been talking about head lice again at school recently, but do we know very much about them? What do they look like close up? Why do they live only in our hair? Draw a picture of a head louse and write 3 facts about them in your homework book.

Tips for Quality Homework * Make a colourful heading for each section. * Use pencil for writing and coloured pencils for headings and illustrations. * Rule off neatly with a ruler after each section. * Try your hardest with spelling and neatness.
