MICRO-FINANCE & ITS IMPACT ON SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL WOMEN Objectives:

To know the socio-economic status of rural women. To know the extent of poverty eradication in the villages by introducing microfinance institutions.

To understand the role of SHGs in micro-finance & the relevant benefits and beneficiaries.

Methodology:

Primary Data: The primary data will be collected using Interview schedule method, Observation Method, Group Discussion with SHG members.

Secondary data: And the secondary data is collected through Internet different websites, books, journals & articles.

The reason behind choosing this project is to study the Impact of Micro-finance implementation in various parts of the country. As, published by various newspapers, in Andhra Pradesh nearly 50 women have died due to high interest rate, they were unable to repay the loan received from the SHGs & the torture of private MFIs to rural women. These MFIs make them attempt to suicide or migrate. Now in Karnataka especially in Mysore and Chamarajanagara districts people have suffered by private MFIs above lines explained. A few of them have been complaining to Deputy Commissioner of

Mysore for protecting their lives. The conclusion of this study is to know and study the impact of MFIs on Rural women.
