Scholarship Criteria Academic Year 2011-2012 The AAFA Education foundation board of directors voted to institute certain criteria

regarding the distribution of scholarships to students that it awarded to its endorsed institutions. Endorsed institutions must now award scholarships of no less than $1,000 per student. Scholarships of more than $1,000 amount may be awarded. The AAFA Education Foundation strives to make the scholarships awarded to students meaningful and of greater value to the students. Scholarships will be awarded based upon talent and academic record. Each institution is entitled to provide the scholarships based upon how each institution wishes to define talent and academic record as these will vary from program to program. Sponsored scholarships (named scholarships) of $10,000 or more will be given criteria on a case-by-case basis depending upon the wishes of the sponsor. Some sponsors may wish to award a certain institution or also have minimum award amounts, for example. Each endorsed institution will be notified on how these funds will be distributed along with how the scholarship will be named. Some sponsors may also wish to donate to the general fund and be listed as a scholar sponsor only. For the 2011-2012 academic year Siemens is sponsoring the named scholarships. The criteria for the Siemens scholarship are the same as the regular scholarships, except that they must be awarded as the Siemens PLM Scholarship. Schools will also be awarded plaques with the Siemens scholarship winner and their name. Schools are to pick one student for this scholarship and to notify the AAFA Education Foundation. To review, beginning in the 2011-2012 academic year, scholarships awarded to students by the each institution must be in the amount of $1,000 or greater. Scholarships are to be awarded based on talent and academic record.
