    TOOLS USED IN HANDICRAFTS Hand tools are used for processing materials by hand.

    MEASURING TOOLS

    PULL-PUSH RULE It is used to measure longer distance.

    ZIGZAG It is used for longer measurements and can be folded for convenience.

    FOOT RULE It is a measuring tool with English and metric system of measurements.

    CUTTING TOOLS CROSS-CUT SAW It is used for cutting across the grain of the wood. RIPSAW It is a saw used for cutting along the grain of the wood.

    COPING SAW It is used for cutting shells into a desired shape. BLOCK PLANE It is a small plane from 13 to 18 cm in length used in planing end grains. SMOOTH PLANE It is used to smoothen the surface of wood. SPOKE SHAVE This is a double-handled tool used for smoothing irregular curves in woodworks. CHISELS

    These are tools used to cut, pare gouge, and engrave. DRIVING TOOLS CLAW HAMMER This is used for driving and pulling out nails. MALLET It is made of hard wood and used for driving chisels. SCREWDRIVER It is a tool with flattened metal end that fits into the slot of a screw. It is used for loosening and tightening screws.

    NAIL SET This is a set of tools of different sizes and shapes used to drive the head of the nail so that it will sink below the surface of the wood. HOLDING TOOLS C CLAMP It resembles the letter C. It is used for clamping small pieces of stock. PLIERS These are used for cutting wires. BORING TOOLS AUGER BIT

    It is used for making holes in wood. It is used together with a brace. HAND DRILL It is used for making holes in shells and other materials.
