TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN It never occurred to me in August 2008 that when I proposed to have Bugs Tan conduct a workshop for our children at NAGCM that the room would be filled with so much fun and activity. The ease in which this self professed inventor worked himself through the crowd of young children is a testament of the child within him. Through his humour and his extensive experience, he was able to tap the children s innate creativity in producing inventions of sorts from recyclable material. Affectionately known as Uncle Bugs, the children were drawn to him , in awe of this icon from Malaysia s exclusive circle of professional inventors. I have subsequently recommended Bugs to various schools and organisations since. As a seasoned parent, I can safely add that Bugs workshops are comparable to a number of internationally run workshops that I have sent my own children to. As a friend, I find him generous, supportive , informal and congenial by nature. He is easy to work with and obliging, especially when it comes to children. May his success both locally and internationally inspire a breed of young inventors and creators who can make Malaysia proud.
