PROPERTIES OF WATER

Water is a compound (H2O)

One molecule of water is made by the combination of two atoms of hydrogen with one atom of oxygen.

These properties make water irreplaceable as a means of cleanliness.

ACTIVITY Take a glass of water and mark its level. Place the glass in a refrigerator. When water solidify mark its level again.

DENSITY = MASS
VOLUME Density of water = 1KG / 1L = 1000g / 1000cc = 1 g/cc

But at 00C volume increases hence its density decreases. Hence ice can float on water.
