DAY 2- Travel to Johnson Lake for Nebraska Sand Hills.

The #1 recall I have from today was standing at the top of the hill with Coach Sellers as we watched the runners surge up the hill. The sound of gravel and the light breeze heightened the experience of looking out at the Nebraska landscape. I kept playing the story of Gary Long from Burnee, TX over and over in my head. Watching Coach Sellers redraw the line that Gary Long drew in 1973 was amazing, a line that Coach Sellers said led to winning the state championships. It has always been my favorite story of all time Paavo or Non-Paavo. To see the very line that had motivated me for so many years was incredible. I watched the runners push with intensity and it reminded me of why we do the things we do. Seeing motivated individuals challenge themselves for no reason other than to become the best was incredibly rewarding. The Paavo Lifestyle is a blessed one. While dodging mosquitoes we dined on Chicken Nugget Stir-fry which quickly became my new favorite Paavo meal. Another great day on the Paavos. Only 12 to go!
