Remarks for the walking guide Lefkada on Foot.

Because of a wet spring (2011) some of the paths are partly overgrown and not always easy to find. In most cases the map will give a solution to find an alternative route. Walks no. 16, 17, 18 Recently a kafeneion has opened in the square of Katouna. Walk no. 17 P.75. The last part of the track turning left at LP10 was, this autumn (2010), blocked by water and vegetation. You can avoid this path by following the main track and turning left into the track a few minutes passed the shed. Keep left at the two Y-junctions and a little further you see the waterfall and thereafter the original path from the left. So you go straight on here. Walk no. 19 P.80. The Olive Wood Workshop doesnt exist anymore so the signs have gone. You cross the main tarmac road and ascend the small tarmac road to the right. P.82. The track at FTN5 is now very difficult to find and is partly overgrown. You can stay on the tarmac road and will come into the village. Keep left and you come onto the square with the taverna. Walk no. 26 P.110. The path past AD5 from the shrine to AD6 is overgrown. You can walk back via AD5 to AD2 and AD1 and go on to AD6. Walks nos. 27/28 P.113. The path from KAL2 is partly overgrown. You can follow the tarmac road, turn left at the Tjunction until KAL3. At this point are two solar systems along the road. The path KAL4-KAL5 is also partly overgrown. You can stay on the tarmac road until KE1, see photo p. 115, and another 2 minutes on the tarmac road will bring you to KAL5. P.114. Walk 27: KE1, after 7 minutes ignore the turn to the right, a little further there is a new dirt track to the left, avoid this track but keep right and follow the descending track until the sharp turn to the left. Here the path is a little overgrown but a little further again good recognizable. Walk no. 29 P.121. The walk is 14,3 km instead of 7.5 km. P.122. The beginning of the farm-track of line 4 is recently paved. P.122. Here is a shortcut possible between AT6 and AT7, so later you will have less walking on the tarmac. About 5 minutes passed AT6 is a track to the left, see white road on the map of page 120. At this point Ive put a sign. After over 15 minutes this path comes onto the tarmac road between AT8 and AT9 where you turn left and follow the original walk. With the shortcut the walk is 15 minutes shorter.
