Help Celebrate Hal Porters 50th Anniversary of His Ordination

Dear friends, Grace and peace to you. We know there are many milestones and anniversaries in our life together in the Presbyterian Church (USA) to know about and celebrate. I hope this one might inspire you to share a milestone or anniversary with all of us within the national network of More Light Presbyterians. This month of July is our friend and colleague in ministry, Hal Porters 50th anniversary of his ordination as Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). The Rev. Dr. Harold G. Porter, Honorably Retired, a native of Michigan is a graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary and served churches in California, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio. Hal is pastor emeritus of Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church, a welcoming and affirming More Light congregation in Cincinnati, Ohio. Hal is married to Betty Porter. Betty recently retired from serving as librarian at Xavier University. Hal served on the National Board of Directors for More Light Presbyterians and during his ministry served two More Light churches, the First Presbyterian Church, Baldwin Park, CA and Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, Ohio. A passionate ally for LGBT equality, Hal also served as co-chair of the successful effort that removed the anti-gay ordinance in Cincinnati.
