Professional Experience 1) Dreamworks Animation | animation industry


Character Effects Technical Director, August 2007 Present (2 years 8 months) Developing character effects solutions through the application of 3rd party and proprietary software. Character Effects solutions entail both development solutions (pipeline, tool, rigging, and clothing development) and daily shot effects work. Technical Director, 2003 Present (7 years 1 month) Provided support and solutions for a crew of 80+. Support and solutions entail 3rd party and proprietary software enhancement and development, pipeline enhancement and support, automation of tedious animation and layout procedures. In addition, both development and R&D completion for complicated shots through the use of hybrid proprietary and 3rd party software. CG Animation Trainer, 2003 2005 (2 years) Taught 2D to 3D classes that were essential to the animation team transitioning into the new 3D medium. Furthermore, evaluated artists and supervisors for the studio in this transitional stage. Evaluation was fundemental in selection and transition of new and old staff. I also performed training and evaluation of general and supervisor staff. In addition to my special consulting in animation, I taught classes in the following: Layout, Pipeline, and numerous proprietary software.

Animation Trainer and software consultant, 2000 2001 Provided management and training for a crew of 20+ artists within Manila, Philippines. The primary Los Angeles based studio, Virtual Magic, wanted me to develop 3D outsourcing talent in the Philippines. The development of talent required me to transition 2D trained artist with the developing 3D pipeline.
