Wolff-Parkinson-White ECG
David H. Spodick, MD, DSc, Section Editor Medical Service, St Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA
he patient was a 36-year-old man without known clinical cardiac disease. The electrocardiogram shows classic delta waves in every lead, short (100 ms) PR interval, and QRS (actually delta-to-RS) duration of 170 ms. Delta waves
in leads II, III, and aVF are negative, appearing as false Q-waves of inferior myocardial infarction. With a Wolff-Parkinson-White electrocardiogram, all initial abnormalities, particularly Q-waves, cannot be interpreted separately.
