Brief about the sectorORIGIN OF ADVERTISINGAdvertising, as we understand today ,was not used about 200 years ago.

Criers and signs were used to carry information for advertising goods and services in ancient Greek and Rome, before development of printing. The the 17th century when newspaper advertising began to develop throughout Europe ,advertisements in them were very different from those by illustrations and signs which gave advertising rapid growth. Development of Modern AdvertisingDevelopment of modern advertising first started in America and England, at time when Industrial revolution led to expansion of mass manufactured goods, making markets larger and larger. Localised markets were replaced by extended domestic and international market. This development created relationship between the maker and the user of goods, and created need of advertising. Other factors such as growth of newpaper and magazines, the advent of the radio and television, were equally significant in the growth of advertising in its present form.Thus, this led to development of the modern advertising agency system which led advertising to become an institution and profession. Advertising in India was pioneered by Dattaram& Company in 1905 in Mumbai. Advertising now, in 2010 has completes 105 years of its existence in India.it It has shaped from street peddlers to its present form on TV and internet. CURRENT SCENERIO OF ADVERTISING As markets are increasing rapidly, with lots of products and brands in market, with high competition rate need to connect with consumers has become necessary.In todays scenario commonly used media for advertising are billboards, T.V, radio, websites, newspapers ,magazines etc through which advert isers connect to the mass audience. Indias advertising sector is booming with markets expansion globally and companies are reaching beyond boundary line to reach their target audience. If experts are to believe then the industry in coming years will form a major contribution to the GDP
