To create a password reset disk

The Forgotten Password Wzard ets you create a password reset dsk that you can use to recover your user
account and personazed computer settngs f you forget your password.
The steps to perform ths task dffer dependng on whether your computer s a member of a network doman or s
part of a workgroup (or s a stand-aone computer).
My computer s on a doman
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Security daog box.
2. Cck Change Password.
3. Cck Backup to open the Forgotten Password Wzard.
4. Cck Next and then foow the nstructons as they appear on the screen.
My computer s not on a doman
The steps to perform ths task dffer dependng on the type of user account you have.
If you have a computer admnstrator account
1. Open User Accounts n Contro Pane.
2. Cck your account name.
3. Under Related Tasks ocated on the eft sde of the wndow, cck Prevent a forgotten password.
4. In the Forgotten Password Wzard, foow the nstructons as they appear on the screen.
If you have a mted account
1. Open User Accounts n Contro Pane.
2. Under Related Tasks ocated on the eft sde of the wndow, cck Prevent a forgotten password.
3. In the Forgotten Password Wzard, foow the nstructons as they appear on the screen.
