    Data communication involves three components: a sender, a receiver, and a transmission medium. It allows exchange of data between two devices via some form of transmission medium. A simple data communication system includes a transmitter that sends electronic signals through a channel which are then received by a receiver. Bandwidth is the range of frequencies available for transmission. For a periodic signal with frequencies of 100, 300, 500, 700, 900, 1100Hz, the bandwidth is 1100-100=1000Hz.
