The interixing of blades and/or vanes in the gas genezator is permitted only if the parts have the came interchangeability code and if the substitut: the new or refurbished parts results in upgrading che gas genera As an aid in determining gas generator upgrading, preferred parts are designated by an asterisk after the interchangeabilicy code. The asterisk applies only to the preferred base a:loy and is not affected by the coating applied to the part. ‘The selection of the coating option should be made with coasideration for the severity of the customer's operating condition and environment. The coating cpticne are applicable primarily to refurbished parts and may no= be available on new parts. Page 17 of thie document provides a convenient cross reference between the PA or AMS material specification and the industry equivalent nomenclature. NOTE: First stage turbine blade, PN 457001? and prior suffix letters should not be used in the GG4A-7, PTMA-9 LF or DF gas generators or the FT4A-12 model The FN 457001? and prior suffix letter blades are acceptable for use in the GG4A-4/PT4R-@ and lover power gas generators, or in the GG4A and FT4A gas generators that operate on gaseous fuels exclusively. The "Pt and prior suffix letter Dlades should not be operated in excess of 8,000 hours, and should be scrapped at that time. These blades are not recommended for modificacion to the large area notch configuration, as described in Turbo Power Service Bulletin 74B26. These restrictions do nct apply to first stage turbite blades, PN 457001R ard hicher suffix letrers The PWA 252 specification replaces PWA 45 and PHA 63.
