SETTING UP YOUR L2TP VPN IN MAC OSX.

MAC OSX 10.5 LEOPARD & 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD INSTRUCTIONS

1. Open system preferences and click onto 'Network'.

2. Click the '+' button on the network connections pane.

3. From the drop down menu select 'VPN' followed by 'L2TP' then click 'Create'.

4. Enter the Freedur server IP into the 'Server Address' field and the your email in the 'Account Name' field then click the 'Authentication Settings' button.

5.Enter your 'Password' and the Shared Secret then click 'OK'. *You must set your password from the Freedur application under Settings -> VPN.

6. Click the 'Advanced' button.

7. Tick 'Send all traffic over VPN connection', press 'OK'.

8. Click 'Apply'. 9. Leave the 'Show VPN status in menu bar' box ticked and press 'Connect'.

10. Finished! You can Connect/Disconnect to the server from the menu bar.

MAC OSX 10.4 TIGER INSTRUCTIONS

Setting up VPN access over L2TP under Mac OSX 10.4 is quick and easy. The following instructions will take you step by step in setting up your account. 1. Open your Applications folder. 2. Click on Internet Connect.

3. Click on the VPN icon. A small option window will open.

4. Select the L2TP over IPSec option and click Continue. The small option window will close.

5. Select Edit configurations in the Configurations drop down menu.

6. When the large option window opens, type in the following: a. Description: Freedur b. Server Address: Server IP c. Account Name: Your login email

7. Select the Password option for User Authentication. 8. Select the Shared Secret: option for Machine Authentication. a. Enter the Shared Secret 9. Click OK and then Connect. A small window will open. 10. Type your VPN password in the 'Please enter your password' field and click OK. 11. Click Connect 12. From the Connect menu, select Options.

Check 'Send all traffic over VPN connection'. Click OK
