Edmodo: Step by Step Walkthrough

1. Go to www.edmodo.com 2. Select I m a Teacher to sign up (or enter your username and password if already signed up and skip to step 4)

3. Create a username and password for yourself. Once you fill out the requested information, click sign up .

4. You should be directed to your main page, looking like this:

Creating a Class 1. If you want to create a class (called a group) select Create by groups.

2. Fill in the requested information in this box. If


you want students to be able to make posts, do not check the Default all new members to read only box. After you fill in the rest of the information, click create

3. You will receive a conformation box with a code for the class. This code is needed for your students to join the class.

4. You should then see that particular class on your main page like this:

Posting a Message

1. To post a message, just click on the blank textbox at the top of the main page. Type your
message

2. Select the classes you want to see the message. You may select more than one group. 3. Click Send

Making an Assignment 1. To make an assignment for the class, click Assignment at the top of the main page. 2. Name the assignment and type in any text you want with it. 3. If you want to upload a worksheet or provide links to other sites with the assignment, you can here. 4. Select the groups you want to know about the assignment. 5. Click send.

Conducting a Poll 1. To make a poll, select Poll at the top of the main page. 2. Write your poll question in the first textbox. 3. Enter as many possible answers that you would like for that question (if you need more boxes, click + Add Answer ). 4. Select the groups that you want to be able to take the poll. 5. Click Send

Steps for Students to Sign Up 1. Have students go to www.edmodo.com 2. Have them select I m a Student 3. They will create a username and password. 4. Then they ll be asked for a group code. Be sure that you provide this custom code for them. 5. They will then have access to your course materials on edmodo.
