Sundial Directions

You will Need:

-page 2 and 3 printed out on cardstock paper -a compass -glue and/or tape -cardboard (minumum of 8x8, bigger is better, cereal box cardboard works great) -pencil and/or marker -watch and/or timer -thumb tacks, double sided tape OR poster putty

Directions
1. Print page 2 and 3 on cardstock. 2. Cut out both outlines (DO NOT cut orange line) 3. Glue A and B together (print side out)(DO NOT glue the flaps), fold flaps out 4. On an additional piece of cardboard glue or tape the flaps, alighn the S point at the back of cardboard so you have more space to write in the front 5. Take the sundial outside at around 9:45 am, you will need to find a flat spot that is in the sun ALL day and will not be bothered 6. Find the N in the upper corner of your sundial, now find North on your compass, the N will need to face North and the S will face South 7. Tack your sundial down so it will NOT move, if it moves you will not get the correct times 8. At 10am there will be a shadow, at the very edge of that shadow is where 10am will be on your sundial, draw a mark and write 10am 9. Now you will set the timer for ONE hour and check your sundial, write 11am at the edge of the shadow, you will check and mark each hour until 6pm.
