ROLE
Conduct exploratory and applicative research in the development of new lens coating products and processes.Involve the optimization of polymeric coatings and assist the process development, product trials, scale ups and trouble shooting.

RESPONSABILITIES: MISSIONS AND TASKS

Work with Chemists or Engineers in the development of new lens coating products and processes for the Ophthalmic Lens Market. Optimize the coating materials, formulations, processes, and products. Perform complex processing experiments, and/or lead the projects/studies. Adapt to new technologies, new designs of experiments and new laboratory techniques. Write experimental results and technical reports and present at group and Global R&D Meetings. Interface with other Coating Group personnel as well as global R&D Departments, Engineering, Production, Laboratories, Vendors, etc. Direct the work of non exempt or exempt level employee if necessary.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Bachelor degree in scientific discipline (Chemistry, Materials Science and Chemical Engineering) Industrial experience preferred, e.g. experience in polymeric materials or coating products Strong interest in laboratory research and coating characterization techniques Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Good writing and communication skills Good computer skills, such as MS office
