To summarize some key points and to correct a few others regarding limits... APs per Controller 2106 = 6 APs 2112 = 12 APs (probably not on CCNA: Wireless) 2125 = 25 APs (probably not on CCNA: Wireless) 4402 = 25 or 50 APs 4404 = 100 APs 3750G = Based on the 4402, and therefore 25 or 50 APs WLCM = 6 APs WLCM-E = 8 or 12 APs 5508 = 250 APs (probably not on the CCNA: Wireless) WCS and Navigator The WCS is licensed based on the number of APs that it supports, regardless of how many controllers are being used for them. WCS Licensing ranges between 50 APs and 2,500 APs on a single server, up to 50,000 APs spread across multiple servers. The WCS Navigator can coordinate with up to 20 WCS servers (20 times 2,500 = 50,000 APs). VLANs/SSIDs/etc Every Cisco Switch is capable of supporting a max of 512 VLANs due to memory constraints imposed by a seperate instance of STP running for each VLAN. Controllers get counted as Switches, and you may often see them refered to as Switches in documentation. Controllers can support 512 WLANs (each having 1 SSID), though not all 512 can be pushed to every AP it manages. All currently supported Cisco APs in Standalone Mode can support 16 SSIDs and there corresponding 16 VLANs (raised from 8 in previous models). All currently supported Cisco APs in Lightweight Mode can support 16 WLANs (each having 1 SSID) and has no concept of a VLAN. VLANs can be numbered 1-4094 (0 and 4095 are reserved). If a Controller has more than 16 WLANs configured, each AP will service the first 16 unless specifically configured otherwise (using WLAN Override options). Controllers per Mobility Group/Domain In Version 4.2 Controller Code (which is the basis for the CCNA: Wireless Exam), a max of 24 Controllers per Mobility Group and a max of 2 Mobility Groups per Mobility Domain. In more recent releases the number of Controllers per Mobility Grou and Mobility Groups per Mobility Domain changes.
