Transportation Industries

On 15 October, 2005, over 45 members participated in the seminar on

Transportation Industries at the head quarter of HKIE, Causeway Bay. The
seminar was co-organized by ASME and HKIE MMNC Division and aimed at
providing the latest career development information in different industries to
our young members, especially student members.

Four honourable speakers were invited, namely Mr. Hermes Ho, Flight
Lieutenant from Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, Ir C.L. Leung, E&M Engineering
Manager, MTR Corp., Mr. Wilson Cheung, Dah Chong Hong Ltd. and Mr. Dick
Yeung, Maintenance Engineer, Discovery Bay Transportation Services Ltd.

Speakers shared the current working conditions in their industries and

introduced their roles in their company to the audience. In addition, speakers
shared the engineering graduates’ career paths in their companies as well as
some hints for recruitment. The seminar was well received and helper to all
young members.

The lecture was commenced by the opening speech by Prof. Ronald So,
Chairman of IMechE (Hong Kong Branch), and closed by the closing remarks
by John Chow, Chairman of YMS (Hong Kong Branch)
