Trooper Thomas Stone attempted to stop a pickup truck for speeding in Franklin County, Florida. The driver, Christopher Lynn from Alabama, refused to stop and led police on a high-speed chase through two counties. Lynn struck Stone's patrol car as he fled and later collided with Trooper Michael Simmons' vehicle, disabling it, before continuing to flee. Deputy Sean Wheeler soon located Lynn and arrested him without further incident. MULTI-COUNTY CHASE RESULTS IN ARREST OF ALABAMA MAN
~Robbery suspect apprehended~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Early Saturday morning, Trooper Thomas Stone attempted to stop a Toyota pickup truck driven by Christopher Wayne Lynn, 25 years old, of Logan, Alabama. Stone observed Lynn speeding on U.S. 98 near Lanark Village in Franklin County and attempted to stop him. Lynn refused to stop and proceeded eastbound at a high rate of speed and traveled towards Wakulla County on U.S. 319. Lynn turned his Toyota onto a dirt road and Stone followed. After turning his car around to get back to U.S. 319, Lynn struck Stone's patrol car as he continued to flee. Trooper Michael Simmons attempted to stop the Toyota on U.S. 319 north of Sopchoppy. The Toyota collided with Simmon's vehicle, disabling it. Lynn again fled the scene. Shortly afterward, Deputy Sean Wheeler from the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office, located the Toyota and Lynn in a parking lot in Medart. Wheeler detained Lynn in the parking lot until more troopers arrived. The law enforcement officers took Lynn into custody without further incident. Lynn and Simmons were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both were treated and released from the hospital. Lynn was booked into the Wakulla County Jail for numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, including a warrant from Alabama for armed robbery with a firearm. ###
