    Machine Settings for Accessing ERP within Institute LAN

    STEP 1 (Checking of the settings) Go to Start Run Type cmd and press Enter Write ping erp.iitkgp.ernet.in and press Enter Case 1 If the reply is from 10.57.5.10 then ignore Step 2.

    Case 2 If the reply is from any other address then go to Step 2.

    STEP 2 (Setup of the Preferred DNS Server) i) ii) iii) iv) Go to Control Panel Network Connection Local Area Connection Properties Click on Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) Properties Set Preferred DNS Server as 144.16.192.55 Alternate DNS Server should be blank.

    v)

    (Optional) Go to Advanced Click on DNS tab Select Append these DNS suffixes(in order) Click on Add Write iitkgp.ernet.in Click on Add Close opened windows by pressing OK/Close. For details check the figure below.

    STEP 3 (Mozilla Firefox Proxy Settings) i) ii) Open Mozilla Go to Tools Options Advanced Network Settings Either select No Proxy (In this option you cant open other internet sites) or select Manual proxy configuration. a. For the manual proxy configuration enter any institute proxy as HTTP proxy (Ex: 144.16.192.245, 144.16.192.247, 144.16.192.216, 144.16.192.217, 144.16.192.218, 10.3.100.148, 10.3.100.211, 10.3.100.212 etc.), 8080 as Port, check Use this proxy server for all protocols. b. Add erp.iitkgp.ernet.in in No Proxy for list, separated by comma.
