Environment

Dubbo ALIVE details environmental issues affecting the local area and identifies Councils response to these issues. Council has endorsed six priority issues being Water, Waste, Energy, Biodiversity, Pollution and Salinity Management which brings the plan in line with the Regional Environmental Sustainability Plan developed by the Bathurst Orange Dubbo Alliance late last year.

Transport
Council provides a transport infrastructure system that allows safe, convenient and comfortable pedestrian and vehicle traffic flow, into and throughout the City. Council maintains a road network consisting of 1,228.35km of which 80% is located in the rural area where just half of these roads are unsealed.

Waste disposal
Dubbo City Council aims to provide environmentally responsible solid waste processing services. Council provides a range of waste and recycling services for residents including:


a weekly kerbside bin service for the collection of household rubbish an annual kerbside cleanup service for the collection of bulky items and green waste Numerous recyclables drop off centres allow residents to participate in recycling.

Water supply
Council is responsible for providing a safe, reliable and cost effective water supply which is customer focused, enhances the Dubbo environment and caters for the sustainable growth of the City
