    TOPIC: LEARNING ENGLISH IN 20 MINUTES

    SUGGESTED BY PPD:PPD:THE PURPOSE OF THIS ACTIVITY IS TO IMPROVE THE LANGUAGE ABILITIES OF AVERAGE TO WEAKER PUPILS,SO THAT THEY CAN ENRICH THEIR VOCABULARY AND TO ENABLE THEM TO READ AND WRITE CORRECTLY AND CONFIDENTLY.

    THEREFORE, THE SETS OF PREDETERMINE(STANDARDIZE) ENGLISH MODULE BOOKS(CDs) THAT ARE SUITABLE FOR YEAR 1 TO YEAR 6 PUPILS ARE GIVEN TO ALL SCHOOLS IN KLUANG ZONE.

    HOW CAN I CARRY OUT THIS ACTIVITY??

    GUIDELINES THIS LESSON MUST BE:BE:  THREE TIMES A WEEK. Eg.Tue, Wed & Thu.  OUTSIDE THE NORMAL CLASS TIMETABLE. (SUGGESTED TIME - EARLY MORNING AFTER THE ASSEMBLY)  MAXIMUM OF 20 MINUTES.  ONLY 2 TOPICS(TWO TEXT) IN A MONTH. OR, ONLY ONE SIMPLE TEXT WITHIN 2 WEEKS.  CARRIED OUT USING THE ENGLISH IN 20MINS MODULE BOOK. ALTHOUGH, THE TEACHERS ARE ALLOWED TO CREATE THEIR OWN TEXTS.

    IMPLEMENTATION
    The are two ways that can be used to carry out this activity:activity:1. CDs & LCD
    2.

    Manually (Chalk & Talk) -To write the text in a big paper and stick it onto the wall or blackboard.

    SUGGESTIONS OF METHOD OF TEACHING

    1. CDs & LCD Activities of Week1/Week2  Teacher puts the English Module CDS in a computer & switch on the LCD.  Pupils do shared reading of a text twice (read a text 2 times).  Then, Pupils write the text in their exercise books.( E3 exe.book) read & write only one text for 3 days (eg Tues,Wed & Thurs) in a week.

    Week2/Week4 Activities.  Day1 lesson (Tuesday) Pupils read a text once. Then, do exercise 1.  Day2 lesson (Wednesday) Pupils read the text once. Then, do exercise 2.  Day3 lesson (Thursday) Pupils read the text once. Then, do exercise 3.

    2. Manually(Read text from a big paper/board)


     Same

    procedures like when using computers &LCD.  The teacher must rewrite (enlarge) the given text in a big board or paper.
