EventOutgoingCallOk

The EventOutgoingCallOk event indicates the successful setup of a GSM mobile originating call (MOC). The normal GSM layer 3 signalling for a successful MOC call setup procedure is as follows: Direction Uplink Downlink Uplink Uplink Downlink Downlink Uplink Downlink Downlink Uplink Message RR Channel Request with an MOC establishment cause RR Immediate Assignment with matching establishment cause and random reference MM CM Service Request or MM CM Re-establishment Request CC Setup CC Call Proceeding RR Assignment Command RR CC CC CC Assignment Complete Alerting Connect Connect Acknowledge

However, the Actix GSM event detection mechanism does not require this entire sequence of signalling to be present in order to consider the call setup a success, because, for example, sometimes logging starts part way through the procedure. Instead the minimum layer 3 signalling that is required for the mechanism to consider the call setup a success is shown in the following table. But note that without either an MM CM Service Request or an MM CM Re-establishment Request, the mechanism cannot establish whether the call type is MOC, MTC, or SMS and arbitrarily assumes it to be MOC (on the basis that outgoing voice calls are the most common type when drive testing). Direction Uplink Either Downlink Message CC Setup CC Alerting Notes If this message is present, the EventOutgoingCallOk attribute is set at this point. If this message is present but the CC Alerting message is not, the EventOutgoingCallOk attribute is set at this point.

If the mechanism detects the start of the call setup procedure, it sets the EventCallStart event. However, this may not be present prior to the EventOutgoingCallOk event, if, for example, logging started part way through the procedure. Note: The mechanism is designed to handle many different types of anomalies in the logged layer 3 messaging at the start of the call setup procedure. See EventCallStart for more information.
