ORDINANCE NO. _______ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1-5-2 OF THE ISLAND LAKE VILLAGE CODE ________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, the Village of Island Lake, Lake and McHenry Counties, Illinois, is an Illinois municipal corporation; and WHEREAS, from time-to-time, the Village reviews its ordinances to determine whether the provisions are consistent with Illinois statutes and Village ordinances and regulations; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees find that it is in the best interest of the Village to amend Sections 1-5-2 of the Village Code, as more fully set forth in this Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Island Lake, Lake and McHenry Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. Section 2. hereby repealed. Section 3. The above stated recitals are incorporated herein by reference. The Ordinance amending Section 1-5-2 adopted on March 24, 2011, is Section 1-5-2 of the Village Code is hereby amended as follows:

1-5-2: DUTIES: A. The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the Village and shall perform all such duties as may be required by statute or ordinance. The Mayor shall have supervision over all the executive officers of the Village and over all the employees of the Village. The Mayor shall have the power and authority to inspect all books and records kept by any Village officer or employee at any reasonable time. Whenever there is a question as to respective powers or duties of any appointed officer of Village, it shall be settled by the Mayor. The Mayor shall have the power to delegate to any such officer any duty which is to be performed when no specific officer has been directed to perform that duty.

Section 4: In the event a conflict exists between the terms of this Ordinance and any other ordinance of the Village, the terms of this Ordinance shall govern. Section 5: In the event that any term or provision hereof is found or determined to be invalid, the invalid portion shall be deemed stricken herefrom and the remainder shall be in full force and effect. Section 6: and approval. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
