    Reading With Parents in Home Languages

    When? Every Wednesday from 8:25 8:45 Where? All Grade 1 classrooms What? Parents are invited to come into the classrooms to read with small groups of students. We ask that parents bring books in their home languages to share with the students. Books written in English are available in the classrooms, but if English speaking parents have their own to share, please bring them as well. Why? It is important our students understand reading happens in all languages. As a school, ISM values the diversity of languages our students speak. We also recognize that the benefits of bilingualism can only be attained through supporting the development of all the languages our students speak. As parents, you are our most important resource to making this happen. If interested. y y Please come to your childs classroom starting Wednesday, August 17th. There is no need to inform the teacher we welcome everyone who is available.
