LIBRARY EXPERIENCE

Practicum/Student Teaching: Ellenville Elementary School, Ellenville, NY Created book review unit for second graders. Taught lessons at all elementary levels. Created summer reading bulletin board. Created displays and signage to better assist students in finding information. Practicum/Student Teaching: New Paltz High School, New Paltz, NY Assisted Librarian with creating, marketing, and rolling out innovative program to add eReaders and eBooks to the library media center. Promoted reading in the school community by creating book trailers and giving book talks. Taught classes in information literary skills. Researched extensively how to integrate technology into classroom and projects. Field Work: Ellenville High School, Ellenville, NY Assisted librarian in bar-coding, cataloging, and shelving new books. Weeded the librarys non-fiction collection to accommodate new titles. Created subject guides of internet sources for student and teacher use. Assisted students in locating sources, answering reference questions, and processing checkouts and returns. Field Work: Duzine Elementary School, New Paltz, NY Read stories to students. Created videos for library website to inform parents what kindergarteners were reading. Read entire collection of new titles and cataloged them according to curricular use.
