JOB DETAILS : a) Maintaining 80 in numbers 5kg ABC type fire extunguishers : Used against all type of fire 70 in numbers 9kg CO2 fire extinguishers : Used against electric fire. and 5 in numbers Mechanical foam type 50 kg : Used against oil fire. b) Making sure that all employees in working areas are using proper PPE'S, ie Helmat, Safety shoe safety belt,hand glows,mask etc. c) Making sure that before going any party on work, permit to work form is filled up. d) To give awareness how to use various type of fire extinguishers against each type of fire. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION : > Diploma in Fire and Safety Engineering from (NIFE) underneath the Institute at Kochi (Kerala) SUBJECT COVERED : 1) FIRE TECHNOLOGY - Classification of fire,type of fire extinguishers,hose and hose fittings,foam and foam making equipments,fire protective clothing,breathing appratus etc. 2) FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM : Fixed fire protection system- Sprinklers,drenches,foam,water sprey system etc. 3) SAFETY, FIRE HAZARDS & FIRE PREVENTION : Fire prevention,fire fighting codes & standards,aircraft fire fighting,Risk management & fire insurance etc. 4) Constructional Safety-Part 1 & 2 : Basics of building & Safety system in construction. 5) FIRE PRACTICAL & VIVA VOCE : Safety and fire engineering, construction safety. 6) IDUSTRIAL SAFETY, MANAGEMENT & LAWS : Fundamentals of industrial safety & safety management system.
