FAZILKA From 2008 onwards Fazilka is like this.

The 160 year old city, has done way with the greatest perils of any town, the long nasty whining rows of vehicles caught in a traffic jam , honking and puffing up smoke in to the air. People freely walk through its lane. Motorized four-wheelers have been prohibited in the area for 12 hours during day time. Eco cab (cycle- rikshaws) replaced the cars. Anybody dial a cab from his house and a cycle rickshaw will be ready for you. The city popularly known as Bangla, is in India- Pakistan border. It is also famous for its aromatic guavas and high quality rice and wheat. The idea of a car free city struck them during the annual heritage festival. The business men in the town were reluctant at first. But, they eventually give in for the idea. Thus Fazilka become the first car free city in India. Non motorized vehicle friendly communities, is a growing trend. The result is less pollution, better law order system, and a qualified life. Is the age motorcars teetering on the verge of being called a product from primitive era?
