SET OF 2D DRAWINGS

Using AutoCAD, you will produce a set of 2D drawings of the Building you have chosen from the Building Packages folder. This PDF package is on a specific noteworthy building that has either been demolished, was never built or was altered beyond recognition.

This will include: A Site Plan. This should show the key locating roads, north and be in roof plan. A Plan, or plans depending on the amount of levels in the building if the building has two or three levels then draw each one, if the building has more then show the key ones. A Section. Ensure a linework figure drawn by you appears in the section. 2 Elevations. Same scale as section.

You may need to complete additional research on your building in order to complete. You may need to fill in parts of the building do this in an informed architectural way. Draw at 1:1 in AutoCAD. Set up all required drawings (other than the graphic pland) in one ACAD file. These should be set up at the right scale and formatted over 2 A3 Sheets. Use only accepted architectural scales. Consider your drawing layout as you draw. It will be reviewed in the week 4 class. The AutoCAD file should be clearly named with your name. Such as: SurnameFirstname_archcomm-unit1.dwg And then you will submit: SurnameFirstname_archcomm-unit1.pdf You will need to make into a single multi-page PDF. HISTORIC MODEL + MANIPULATION

Using Rhino, produce a 3D model of the historic building you worked with in assignment 1. Model the building at 1:1 using millimeters (mm). Produce three renders from different viewpoints of the model. Two renders will be in ful colour, one render is a make2d hidden line drawing. 2 Colour renders: high quality JPEG files, 1600x1200. Make 2d render: edit in ACAD, ouput in 1 A4 PDF. One of these renders has to be an internal view Manipulate the model and then produce an altered version of your model that utilizes the advanced features of Rhino. Produce one view of this distorted/manipulated model that makes evident the rendering features of Rhino (such as basic materiality, transparency, lighting). Save as as high quality JPG file, 2000x1500. The Rhino file should included on a hand in CD and be clearly named with your name. Such as: SurnameFirstname_archcomm-unit2.3dm And then you will submit A4 print outs, and PDFs on a disk named as follows SurnameFirstname_archcomm-unit2_view01.jpg, etc..
