    Name of the Place: -Mannar Peace Bridge Mannar

    The bridge was reconstructed with a span of 157.1 m in length and 10.4 m in he width, and improve the causeway up to 3.14 km in length, and 11m in width on the Madawachchy Mannar Talaimannar (A14 road). The earlier bridge and the causeway were the only access roads to the Mannar Island from the mainland. Th earlier bridge was in an unstable state; a weak temporary bailey bridge This of narrow width causing immense hardship to the people, and their daily transportation. The reconstruction work has been completed in early 2010. The Road Development 010. Authority, under the supervision of the Ministry of Highways and Road Development implemented the project.
