QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT FOR LEVEL I LEVEL I PERSONNEL ARE RQUALIFIED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS

Perform specific calibrations, nondestructive tests and evaluations for determining the acceptance or rejection of tested objects in accordance with specific written instructions. Record test results . Normally, the level I does not have the authority to sign off on the acceptance and completion of the nondestructive test unless specifically trained to do so with clearly written instructions. Perform nondestructive testing jobs activities in accordance with written instructions or direct supervision from a Level II or Level III technician.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT FOR LEVEL II LEVEL II PERSONNEL ARE RQUALIFIED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS

Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitation of each method for which the individual is certified. Set up and calibrate equipment. Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications. Organize and report the results of nondestructive tests. Exercise assigned responsibility for on the job training and guidance of Level I and trainee personnel.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT FOR LEVEL III LEVEL III PERSONNEL ARE RQUALIFIED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS

Be responsible for nondestructive testing operations to which assigned and which certified. Develop, qualify, and approve procedures; establish and approve nondestructive testing methods and techniques to be used by Level I and Level II. Interpret and evaluate test results in form of applicable codes, standard, specifications and procedures. Assist in establishing acceptable criteria where non are available , based on a practical background in applicable material, fabrication and product technology. Be generally be familiar with appropriate nondestructive testing methods other than those for which specifically certified, as demonstrated by passing an ASNT Level III Basic examination. In the method for which certified , be responsible for, and capable of, training and examination of Level I and Level II personnel for certification in those methods.

Formal training in the fundamental principles and applications of the method. Experience in the application of the method under the guidance of a certified individual (on the job training). Demonstrated ability to pass written and practical (hands on) test that proves comprehensive understanding of the method and ability to perform actual tests by use of specific nondestructive testing methods. The ability to pass a vision test for vision acuity and color perception.

EMPLOYEE CERTIFICATION
TRAINING Training involves an organized program developed to provide test personnel with the knowledge and skill necessary for qualification in a specific area. This is typically perform in a classroom setting where the principals technicians of the particular test method are review ed. Online training is also available. The length of training required is stated in the employers written practice.
