RCHC BOD Minutes for August 7, 2011

Attendees: Susan Hainlin, Jared Harrison, Shelby Sterner, Andrew Hoch, Ashley Carroll, Dan Rathjen, Daniel DeRock, Christiane Hacke, Angela Gadzik, and Martin Pomije 1) Our President and our Vice President did not attend and did not send any reports. 2) Our Treasurer Susan said that she picked up rent checks on Friday. She will be sending out notices to folks who did not pay on Monday and Tuesday. 3) Membership and Education and Culture are functioning as one committee for now. They plan to have a new member orientation on August 27. Returning RCHC members are encouraged to attend as well. This will include a tour of the houses and possibly a potluck. Angela will hold a skillshare on latin dancing to prepare folks for the free concert in the downtown pedestrian mall on August 19. 4) Maintenance met last Tuesday. They have completed the prioritization of the maintenance projects. This list also is categorized by skill level and seasonal nature. This list will be posted on the RCHC web site and around the houses. The next major project will be the Anomy wall fence and then the Bloom basement. Dan is waiting on the metal gutter liner for Bloom. Dan and Avi are working on Room 9 at Bloom to fix the door and to have the light work via a switch instead of a string. Dan will arrange an appointment to take old paint to the land fill. Dan received papers from the contractor after our final Anomy wall payment. These did not include anything like a warranty statement. Dan will talk to our lawyer to determine whether they have lived up to their end of the deal that we made with them. Dan will get an auger to drill fence post holes at Anomy due to the hard clay consistency of the soil next to the wall. He would appreciate some help in this work. There was a related discussion following this about soil aeration at Anomy. Maintenance will meet next Tuesday at 8:00 PM. 5) Finance and Development met about 2 weeks ago. They discussed schemes for late fees on late checks and parking. They also worked on a policy for common space usage. They have not finalized the resource coordinator position. They should have this by the next BOD. They received a bill from our lawyer for $500. They will send this to the accountant. 6) The July 24 minutes were approved.
