EUROTOX BASIC TOXICOLOGY COURSE

A Basic Toxicology course is organized by the Serbian Society of Toxicology and Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade, under the auspices of EUROTOX, on 27 June-1 July 2011 in Belgrade. The venue of the course will be Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. The following topics will be addressed: Basic concepts and principles of toxicology Factors affecting toxic response Toxicokinetics Role of metabolism in drug and chemical toxicity Mutagenesis and chemical carcinogenesis Reproductive and Developmental Toxicity Organ toxicity (liver, kidney and immune system) Risk Analysis (Risk Assessment, Management and Communication) Toxicity testing and Regulatory Toxicology Legislation and strategies for managing chemical risks REACH Basic Concepts Working groups and presentaton of study cases

This is a five day course, with 10 2h lectures, 10 working group sessions, and 4 repports of outcome. A written exam will be held at the end of the course. Attendance fees for all participants are set to 100 , covering registration and full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch, dinner and all day drinks), including a welcome reception and a farewell dinner.
