THEE Word for the Week

The Fruit of Love Galatians 5:22, John 15:9, 1 John 4:7-12 Week 2 - August 29 September 2 Monday: Read Galatians 5:22 A fruit of the Spirit is to describe the evidence of the work of God in a persons life. Paul lists nine of these in Galatians 5. This list is not intended as an exhaustive description of the fruits, but is given to highlight the fruits. This list is meant as a contrast to the list of deeds of the flesh found in Galatians 5:19-20. How would you define love? What kind of love do you believe that God wants to produce in us? How can your life show evidence of Gods leadership in your life through your love to others? Tuesday: Read John 15:9 How has the Father loved you? Does that motivate you to love others? What does it mean to remain in His love? Wednesday: Read 1 John 4:7-8 These verses give us more information about love. We are instructed to love one another, but where does that love come from? Is it wise to think we can love well but not be closely connected to the Lord? What does verse 8 say to you about love? How could we then increase the amount of love we have for others? Thursday: Read 1 John 4:9-10 God show us His love through Christ. Love displayed is a beautiful thing. How did God demonstrate and show His love towards us? What does verse 9 say about why God did this? Who is the initiator with love? What did Gods love pay for? What was the price tag on that? Friday: Read 1 John 4:11-12 Because God loved us we are called to what? Is that always easy to do? When is that most challenging for you? How can His love be made complete in us?
